This is a business process model of the New Electricity Trading Arrangements, as defined in the Balancing and Settlement Code.
The purpose of this model is to assist in the analysis and understanding of the New Electricity Trading Arrangements. Initially developed to support Market Integration Testing (MIT), the model has been further extended to serve as a tool to support the analysis of modification and change proposals undertaken by ELEXON Ltd.. It is also made available to Parties to the BSC as an aid to their understanding of the trading arrangements.
The scope is the organisations, business processes and events with their inter-relationships, within the Balancing and Settlement Code. It spans:
It shows the sequence and timings of processes as a hierarchy of event flow diagrams with, at the bottom level, the organisations responsible for those processes. Applications that underpin the processes are described separately and linked to the processes they support.
NB  Please note that the Events list contains both internal and external events, but all are quoted as External in the individual Event description pages

The BSC business process model was developed by analysis of the Balancing and Settlement Code (BSC) and its subsidiary documents. It's boundaries are therefore those of the BSC. The publication of this model does not guarantee its accuracy. The Elexon Design Authority would appreciate your comments on the accuracy or completeness of the model.
