Search BSC Section Change

This page allows you to search for Sections of the Balancing and Settlement Code (BSC) that have changed as a result of the implementation of a Modification Proposal, Proposed Transitional Modification, Authority Determination Notice or Other Regulatory Directions (please see below for explanatory text ). The search can be conducted based on the Change Type, a Date, a list of all Modifications or by choosing to list all current live versions of the BSC.

1. Change type options are Modification Proposal, Proposed Transitional Modification, Authority Determination Notice, Other Regulatory Directions or Any Change Type. Click the adjacent Go button. Having made this selection, it is possible to refine your selection by selecting a Change Number, e.g. a specific Modification Proposal, to view the Code Section versions introduced by a particular Modification;
2. Selecting a Code Section to view a complete version history of that Section since Go-Live;
3. Enter any historic date to see the versions of all Code Sections which were Live on that calendar date;
4. Click 'All Changes' to view a list of all Modifications implemented since Go-Live by Calendar Year;
5. Click 'All Live' to view the current Live versions of all Sections of the Balancing and Settlement Code.

Change Type explanatory text

Modification Proposal: A modification to the BSC raised in accordance with the procedures set out in Section F:Modification Procedures, of the Code.

Proposed Transitional Modification: A modification to the BSC raised in accordance with the procedures set out in Section I: Transitional Arrangements for Implementation of BETTA, of the Code.

Authority Determination Notice: A direction to modify the BSC made by the Authority pursuant to Condition C3 of National Grid's licence to transmit electricity granted under Section 6 of the Electricity Act 1989 ("the Transmission Licence").

Other Regulatory Direction: A direction to modify the BSC made by the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry pursuant to Condition C3 of National Grid's licence to transmit electricity granted under Section 6 of the Electricity Act 1989 ("the Transmission Licence").
