Volunteering for Modification Group Membership
We’re always seeking volunteers with industry expertise and/or experience in
all areas to join our standing list of experts. These people may become
Modification Group members. Modification Groups are established by the BSC
Panel to carry out the Definition and/or Assessment Procedure for a
Modification Proposal. The BSC Panel has also established Standing Modification
Groups to consider Modification Proposals falling within particular subject
areas.
There are currently four Standing Modification Groups:
-
Governance Standing Modification Group (GSMG)
-
Pricing Standing Modification Group (PSMG)
-
Settlement Standing Modification Group (SSMG)
-
Volume Allocation Standing Modification Group (VASMG)
As well as Modification Proposals, these groups are authorised to consider
Issues falling within their specified areas. More information can be found in
the Modification Group Frequently Asked Questions page
or the main Modification Groups page on this
site.
What’s involved in being a Modification Group Member?
Modification Group members are needed to be part of a Modification Group for
the lifetime of a Modification Proposal. In the case of a standing Modification
Group, its members should also make themselves available to consider Issues
sent to the group. Although it may differ according to the group and the
complexity of the Modification Proposals/Issues, Modification Group members are
generally expected to:
-
Attend a minimum of two meetings for the Definition Phase of a Modification
Proposal.
-
Attend a minimum of two meetings for the Assessment Phase of a Modification
Proposal.
-
Undertake work outside meetings e.g. reviewing documents sent by email.
-
In the case of a Standing Modification Group, participate in meetings to
discuss issues being submitted to the group.
Each Modification Group will produce Definition and/or Assessment Reports for
the BSC Panel together with recommendations to aid the BSC Panel in the
decision making process.
