P216 Release
The Authority approved
Modification P216 ‘Audit of LLF production’ on 25 April 2008. It will be
implemented on 20 April 2009.
P216 will provide greater transparency and consistency in the calculation and application
of Line Loss Factors (LLFs) used in settlement, by setting out the high level principles
for calculating generic and site specific LLFs.
Who does it impact?
Each Licensed Distribution System Operator (LDSO) will be required to develop and
apply a methodology for the calculation of their LLFs. LDSOs will be audited to
check that their methodology follows the high level principles and that their LLFs
have been produced in line with their methodology.
A new BSC Procedure, BSCP128 ‘Production and Audit of Line Loss Factors’ will be
developed to set out the new process.
