"Generating Plant Demand Margin" is the difference between "Output Usable" and
forecast "National Demand". Formal definitions of "Generating Plant Demand
Margin", "Output Usable" and "National Demand" can be found in the Glossary and
Definitions section of the Grid Code, obtainable via the following link:
http://www.Nationalgridinfo.co.uk/grid_code/mn_current.html
Note that from 18/07/03 the numbers included in the calculation of the Surplus
assume a float (i.e. zero MW) transfer across the Interconnectors. For example,
on the French Interconnector, the actual transfer could be anything between
2000MW import to Great Britain and 2000MW export from Great Britain. Prior to
this date a 2000MW import to Great Britain had been assumed.
The Generating Plant Demand Margin information is presented here as follows:
-
The daily peak half hour MW value of Generating Plant Demand Margin for each
day from the 2nd to the 14th day following the current Operational Day; the
filename is displayed as the first date for which data appears in the content
of the file. The six previous files will be available for download.
-
The weekly peak half hour MW value, for the peak Settlement Period for each
week from the 2nd to the 52nd week following the current week; the filename is
displayed as the date of the first Monday for which data appears in the content
of the file. The three previous files will be available for download.
