Output Usable Data

The data files displayed on this page are provided in accordance with Balancing
and Settlement Code requirements (in Sections Q6.4 and V4.4). The files contain
Output Usable data by System Zone and on a National basis in a format that is
suitable for downloading.
"Output Usable" is basically the portion of a Production BM Unit's Registered
Capacity that is expected to be available and is not unavailable due to a
planned outage. Formal definitions of "Output Usable", "Registered Capacity",
"Planned Outage" and "System Zone" can be found in the Glossary and Definitions
section of the Grid Code, obtainable via the following link:

To view a System Zone Map, refer to the publish date/time in the Output Usable
Data file upon download and select the map, in PDF format, effective for this
date from the table below.

The Output Usable information is presented here as follows:

The daily peak half hour MW value of Output Usable for each day from the 2nd to
the 14th day following the current Operational Day; the filename is displayed
as the first date for which data appears in the content of the file. The six
previous files, by type (i.e. National or Zone) will be available for download.

The daily peak half hour MW value of Output Usable for each day from the 2nd to
the 49th day following the current Operational Day (note that this information
is produced on an ad-hoc basis, by type i.e. National or Zone); the filename is
displayed as the first date for which data appears in the content of the file

The weekly peak half hour MW value, for the peak Settlement Period for each
week from the 2nd to the 52nd week following the current week; the filename is
displayed as the date of the first Monday for which data appears in the content
of the file. The three previous files, by type (i.e. National or Zone) will be
available for download

The weekly peak half hour MW value of Output Usable for each week in separate
files for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th year ahead; the filename is displayed
as the first date for which data appears in the content of the file. The last
file, by type, will be available for download
To view Output Usable data please select a file type and whether you wish to
view the information on a National or System Zone basis by using the drop down
menu above.
Historical Output Usable Data, not displayed on this web page, may be requested
for the period from 2 April 2002. Please contact the ELEXON Helpdesk on 020
