Summary
P281 seeks to change the make-up of the Balancing and Settlement Code Company (BSCCo) Board of Directors in order to:
- Allow BSC Parties a more active say in the management and oversight of BSCCo; and
- Ensure the appropriate separation of the BSCCo Board from the management of Elexon Limited, should Elexon be permitted to diversify its activities
Progression
E.ON Energy Solutions Ltd raised P281 on 30 December 2011. P281 has undergone an Assessment Procedure by a Workgroup, and the Workgroup’s Assessment Report was presented to the Panel at its meeting on 12 July 2012. Both the Workgroup and the Panel recommend approval of the P281 Alternative Solution.
P281 was issued for the Panel’s Report Phase Consultation and the Panel made its final recommendation to approve the P281 Alternative Solution at its meeting on 9 August 2012.
On 17 September 2012 the Authority approved the P281 Alternative Modification for implementation on 1 October 2012.
