Peer Comparison
Peer Comparison – Quarterly
This section describes the function of Peer Comparison (PC) as detailed in
Balancing and Settlement Code Procedure (BSCP)
BSCP 534 - PARMS Techniques(98Kb)
.
It also details how the PC technique fits within the Performance Assurance
Framework (PAF).
PC, like Supplier Charges, is part of the Reporting and Monitoring technique. In
the context of the PAF, PC is a corrective technique and is designed to
encourage a Supplier to improve its performance against its peers.
PC is applied per Supplier Id or Supplier Agent Id, per quarter (January to
March, April to June, July to September and October to December), per Grid
Supply Point (GSP) Group (where appropriate).
The Serials and Standards to which PC is applied are detailed within BSC534. PC
uses one or more Standards within each of the appropriate Serials to produce a
column graph that displays, from best to worst performer, the performance of
each participant.
PC graphs need to be approved by the Performance Assurance Board prior to
distribution. Data used to generate the PC graphs is submitted or approved by
the Supplier associated with the Supplier Id.
PC is not intended for use outside of the industry. Participants are named on
the x-axis of the graph, under the column relating to their performance. One
copy of each PC graph is distributed to one named contact by post or email.
Peer Comparison - Public
This section describes the function relating to Supplier public PC. Details of
the public PC process can be found in BSCP534 ‘PARMS Techniques’, available
from the related documents menu alongside.
Public PC can only be applied to Serials that measure Supplier performance. The
Serials are:
| SP01 |
Delivery of Routine Performance Monitoring Reports |
| SP02 |
Delivery of Routine Performance Monitoring Logs |
| SP04 |
Installation of HH Metering |
| SP08a |
Energy and MSIDs on Actuals (NHH) |
| SP08b |
Energy and MSIDs on Actuals (Mandatory HH Metering) |
| SP08c |
Energy and MSIDs on Actuals (Non Mandatory HH Metering) |
| SP09 |
NHH Defaults |
The Performance
Assurance Board (PAB) provides a two-month notification prior to the
publication of peer comparison data. Current notifications and graphs can found
on the Peer Comparison Data
page, available from the Market Data section from the menu alongside.
