Role Definitions
BSC Party
A party which has acceded to the BSC.
Distribution System Operator
A Party who is or intends to be the holder of a Distribution
Licence in respect of distribution activities in Great
Britain.
Trading Party – Generator (TG)
A Party who produces electricity.
Trading Party – Interconnector User (TI)
A Party who trades energy across an Interconnector.
Trading Party – Non Physical (TN)
A Party who trades electricity with third Parties, but has
no generation, assets or retail customers.
Trading Party – Supplier (TS)
A Party who trades electricity and sells it to their
customers.
Transmission Company
The National Grid Company plc
ECVNA – Energy Volume Contract Notification
Agent
A person authorised as a Party Agent by two Contract Trading
Parties to submit Energy Contract Volume Notifications on their
behalf.
MVRNA – Metered Volume Reallocation Notification
Agent
A person authorised as a Party Agent by two Contract Trading
Parties to submit Meter Volume Reallocation Notifications on
their behalf.
