What is MDD?
Market Domain Data is the central repository of reference data used by Suppliers,
Supplier Agents and Licensed Distribution System Operators (LDSOs) in the retail
electricity market. It is essential to the operation of Supplier Volume Allocation
(SVA) Trading Arrangements. MDD is produced by the Supplier Volume Allocation Agent
(SVAA) in the form of Data Transfer Network (DTN) flows D0269 (Market Domain Data
Complete Set) and D0270 (Market Domain Data Incremental Set).
New MDD Table
A new entity has been introduced into MDD as part of the November 2009 BSC Systems Release.
This entity records valid combinations of Meter Timeswitch Class (MTC), Line Loss
Factor Class (LLFC), Standard Settlement Configuration (SSC) and Profile Class (PC)
for each Distributor ID. This data provides Suppliers with an up to date source
of valid combination data for use in the registration process.
MDD Change Process
The MDD change process is governed by
BSCP509 Changes to Market Domain Data (105Kb)
If you are a market participant, you can submit MDD change forms to include or omit
information from MDD. You can only make changes related to your own Market Participant
ID (MPID).
Depending on the information that needs to be changed, you need to complete the
relevant
Entity forms (1Mb)
alongside
BSCP509/01 form (117Kb)
. All change forms must
be submitted, via email, to the MDD Co-ordinator.
Circulars
Two Circulars are issued during each MDD Publish in accordance with BSCP509. The
information below explains the purpose of Circulars and why we send them out.

|
Impact Assessment Circulars inform you of the proposed changes to be included
in a version of MDD. You are expected to carry out impact assessments on the changes
and provide comments in relation to a particular change.

|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Final Circulars confirm the changes to be committed to a Publish. Once
the Final Circular is issued, changes cannot be excluded from that version.

Market Domain Data is now available on the Market
Domain Data Online page. This page also features ad-hoc reports that may
help you operationally.
Receiving MDD Files
You can nominate to receive MDD files via the DTN or email. Please let the SVAA
know by emailing bscservicedesk@logica.com
stating which option you prefer. Updated files are distributed from the MDD Publish
date.
MDD Load Utility
We offer an MS Access tool which allows you to manipulate your MDD files for reporting
purposes. You can download the MDD Load Utility below.
