Participant Testing
25 May 2011: Participant Testing Update
You will be able to do a final round of testing between 31 May and 10 June. Our PARMS test system will be ready with all CP1334 functionality, fully system-tested. Please note that we will clean the database of your earlier submissions; you will be able to retest those submissions.
You can email your test data files from your registered test email address to parms@parmstest.bsccentralservices.com which will then be processed by the PARMS test system. Any acknowledgements and reports will be emailed back to your registered test email address.
We have uploaded our End-to-End Test Specification at the end of this page. This includes Participant Test scenarios in Appendix 1. Please could you run tests 1 to 4 and email releases@elexon.co.uk with your results when you finish testing.
If you encounter any problems or have any questions please feel free to contact us at releases@elexon.co.uk
06 May 2011: Participant Testing Underway
The first participant testing phase is now underway and this is just a quick reminder that you are able to submit files if you haven’t already. The test environment is available until Friday 13 May, 2011. Phase two will run from 31 May – 10 June.
If you encounter any problems or have any questions please feel free to contact us at releases@elexon.co.uk.
28 April 2011: Participant Testing Update
Just a quick update to let you know that you can start submitting your files from 11am on Tuesday 3 May. Please send your files to parms@parmstest.bsccentralservices.com.
HM11 Serials
Currently the functionality to validate HM11 Serial submissions is not in place, therefore any attempt to submit HM11 Data Files will result in PARMS rejecting them. You will be able to start submitting HM11 files from Friday 8 May.
27 April 2011: Participant Testing Update
Participant testing will span two phases, with each phase focusing on the following:
Phase 1: 3 May – 13 May
This will cover sending and receiving data so you will be able to submit of all 12 new Serials, valid and invalid, including the unknown GSP Group (“_U”) and unknown agent (“UUUU”). You will then receive responses in the form of Email Reports, Data File Reports, and Third Party Reports, as well as Consolidated Third Party Reports. The system will also reject the newly obsolete Serials where appropriate. Please note that DPI file submissions will not load successfully as the test environment has not been set up with the new serials as our Service Provider is actioning this part of CP1334 and so you are advised not to submit them at this time but will be able to in phase 2 testing.
Phase 2: 31 May – 10 June
This will cover sending and receiving data as above, but will also include completeness checking. The system will correctly filter out any DPI expectations in the unknown GSP Group, and correctly accommodate the new Serials. DPI files containing the unknown GSP Group should not be rejected, but ‘_U’ will not form part of completeness checking.
Do you want to take part in Participant Testing?
Participant Testing will take place in two phases, with each phase lasting for two weeks: an early, pre-release phase and a second phase. The early phase will take place between 3 – 13 May and the later phase between 31 May – 10 June.
Why should I take part?
You can use Participant Testing to validate the CP1334 changes that you and your agents have made, ensuring that PARMS receives and processes the data you submit.
How can I sign up for Participant Testing?
If you want to sign up for participant testing, please contact Mahesh Gogtay on 020 7380 4215 by Wednesday 20 April 2011. We will log your details and keep you updated with further details on the participant testing.
