Certifications and Awards
ELEXON is committed to delivering the Balancing and Settlement Code in an efficient, effective and economic way. The following award and certifications are an example of this commitment.
In December 2012 we achieved ISO27001 certification after an audit by the BSI. This certification ensures that our information handling, processes, technologies and assets are protected and supported against unauthorised access, unapproved changes and unplanned outages. This means that when we are handling funds, industry data and information, they will be secure. We have successfully transited our accreditation from ISO 27001:2005 to ISO 27001:2013 version in January 2015.
Cyber Essential Plus certification
ELEXON has successfully achieved Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation in February 2015. This is an assurance framework launched by HM Government last year to ensure controls to mitigate cyber security risks for all businesses in the UK. From 1 October 2014, Government requires all suppliers bidding for certain sensitive contracts to be certified against the two-tier Cyber Essentials scheme, first being Cyber Essentials and the second being the more advanced Cyber Essentials Plus. It comprises a framework of security controls for organisations to demonstrate their customers, investors and other parties that they have taken essential precautions for cyber security.
We achieved certification from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply in July 2012. This certification recognises our expertise and excellence in a core area of our business – procuring and managing contracts in a best practice manner to deliver our services. This certification is valid until May 2015.
NOA award winner
In October 2012 we were awarded the National Outsourcing Association (NOA) Award for BPO Contract of the Year. The award underlines our commitment and our strengths in working in partnership with our service providers to deliver best-in-class business process outsourcing in a complex and challenging landscape.
