Delivering CP ‘Interconnector Fuel Type update to BMRS’ earlier

There is an opportunity to deliver CP1535 ‘Interconnector Fuel Type Category update to BMRS’ earlier. This chance has come about following the further Trans European Replacement Reserve Exchange (TERRE) delay announcement.

The Panel are seeking your views on whether to bring the CP1535 Implementation Date forward from 1 April 2021 to 3 December 2020. The Panel initially believe the delivery date should be brought forward.

About CP1535

CP1535 will add the North Sea Link (NSL) Interconnector to the Balancing Mechanism Reporting Service (BMRS) and will also enable the withdrawal of the CP1516 interim solution, which is currently in place to incorporate data from IFA2 and ElecLink Interconnectors on the BMRS. It will implement the original CP1516 solution and give Market Participants visibility of the disaggregated Interconnector data.

Why bring the date forward?

Adapting to the changing circumstances, will:

  • deliver benefits for BMRS Users earlier by reporting all Interconnector volumes in a disaggregated format, removing the CP1516 ‘interim solution’
  • be more efficient to implement alongside P408 as both impact BMRS reporting
  • improve capacity in the BSC delivery pipeline

Responses required

More detail on how to respond, together with all the background information on the proposal is available on the CP1535 Change page.

Responses to the CP1535 consultation should be submitted to [email protected] by 5pm on 25 September 2020. The Panel will consider the consultation responses and decide whether to amend the Implementation Date at its meeting on 8 October 2020.
