Elexon Kinnect Insights Solution now available
We have been developing an exciting new data and insights platform, the Elexon Kinnect Insights Solution, which builds on our existing Balancing Mechanism Reporting Service (BMRS) to offer a richer and more detailed data service for GB electricity.
The data currently available on the platform includes actual generation and generation availability with fuel mix data, and in our most recent update, we have added demand forecast, outturn, system frequency and wind generation forecast data.

The interactive charts and facets on the Insights Solution deliver state of the art data visualisation and interaction, which makes analysing our data fast, easy, and insightful.
Our report pages are clearly laid out and offer insight and context on the data provided to help users who are new to the domain. Data can be easily exported and downloaded in various formats.
All our data reports are underpinned by best in class APIs and documentation, allowing you to seamlessly integrate Elexon data directly into your systems via the Developer Portal, saving you time and increasing productivity.

You can access this data on the Insights Solution now.
The data used is accurate and valid, equivalent to the data used on the BMRS.
Further features to be added
We will be adding further enhancements and features to the Insights Solution over the coming weeks and months, taking on board requests and feedback from our customers.
In our next update later this year we will be adding further Balancing Mechanism data, as well as introducing the next generation Data Push Service for real time data feeds.
We are delivering the new Insights Solution using a continuous deployment approach, meaning we are continually releasing updates – working with our customers in real time so they can help shape the design.

By 2024 the Insights Solution will replace our existing Balancing Mechanism Reporting Service (BMRS), which is why we want to fully understand what our customers want and need with regards to the future data service we will provide.
