Elexon uses the Trading Party Groups as part of the Voting Shares Register for the Balancing and Settlement Code (BSC) Panel Elections.
The Panel member elections take place from June to August 2022 and elected members will serve from 1 October 2022 to 30 September 2024.
The Voting Shares are also important for the voting of Elexon Directors as part of the next Annual BSC Meeting and Seminar on 14 July 2022.
Accurate Trading Party information needed ahead of the elections
It is really important that we hold the latest information on Trading Parties that are affiliated with others. For example, Trading Parties may be part of the same corporate group. Where Trading Parties are affiliated with another corporate group they must be considered as a ‘Trading Party Group’.
This is because BSC Trading Parties are eligible to vote for BSC Panel members in the Panel elections. They may do so by submitting a voting paper for each Energy Account held (i.e. a Production account and a Consumption account).
Only one Trading Party in a Trading Party Group may submit voting papers for the Panel elections.
20 June deadline to confirm Trading Party information is correct
The deadline for Trading Parties to self-declare and update their Trading Party Groups is 20 June.
