Summary
The emergence of NHH New Technologies has provided the opportunity for market participants, particularly Suppliers, to be able to automatically retrieve meter readings remotely and at a frequency in some cases, greater than that recorded by HH systems.
There are no current provisions in BSCP 504 or Party Service Line 120 to indicate how meter readings from such new meter technology should be treated. The requirements stipulated within BSCP 504 and PSL120 do not accommodate the use of this emerging Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) technology. It is proposed that the requirements within these documents are amended to accommodate AMR technology.
