CP1369 – Increased Flexibility in BSCP550 Data Splitting Algorithms

Formal title: Increased Flexibility in BSCP550 Data Splitting Algorithms

Summary

A number of areas in the data splitting algorithms used in BSCP550 are overly-prescriptive, and unnecessarily limit the options available to Suppliers and generators. CP1369 proposes changes to increase the flexibility of these algorithms where the HHDC systems allow.

It is not intended that all BSCP550-compliant HHDCs should have to implement these specialised methods of data splitting. BSCP550 will specify that these methods are available where supported by the HHDC. CP1369 should therefore have no impact on Suppliers and HHDCs who do not wish to take advantage of the flexibility that it offers.

Progression

CP1369 was raised and issued for industry impact assessment via CPC00709 on 2 March 2012, with responses due back on 29 March 2012. The SVG approved CP1369 for inclusion in the November 2012 Release at its meeting on 1 May 2012.

The SVG subsequently approved CP1369 for inclusion in the June 2012 BSC Systems Release at its meeting on 6 June 2012.
