Summary

BSCP520 ‘Unmetered Supplies Registered in SMRS’ defines the required minimum specifications for a Photo Electric Control Unit (PECU) Array. BSCP520 requires PECU Arrays to include a Lux Meter (otherwise known as a Light Meter). Although a Lux Meter is included in the minimum specification, the data derived from it is not required for Settlement purposes.  Since the data from Lux Meter is not required for Settlement purposes, it is difficult to justify the cost and additional burden of providing a Lux Meter.

CP1389 proposes to remove the Lux Meter specification, allowing it to be an optional item during procurement and during the working life of a PECU Array.

Progression

Elexon raised CP1389 and issued it for industry impact assessment via CPC00725 on 22 February 2013, with responses due back on 21 March 2013.

At their meeting on 30 April 2013 the SVG Approved CP1389 for implementation on 7 November 2013.

CP1389 was implemented on 7 November 2013, as part of the November 2013 BSC Systems Release.
