The BSC Audit Issue Review Group has been looking at whether proving tests are necessary in all cases. They have proposed that only the following scenarios require proving tests:
• Complex sites
• Where the Outstation can have a pulse multiplier other than 1
• Meters with a separate Outstation.

CP1472 proposes to amend BSCPs 502, 514 and 601 to remove the requirement for proving test for Meters that only have a pulse multiplier of one. It also proposes a new process for the validation of complex sites.

Npower Ltd raised CP1472 on 14 September 2016. The progression paper for CP1472 was presented to SVG on 4 October 2016 and to ISG on 25 October.

The CP Consultation was issued on 7 November 2016 with responses due by 2 December 2016.

The CP Assessment Report was presented to SVG on 3 January 2017 and then to ISG on 24 January 2017, for decision. Both committees approved CP1472 for implementation on 23 February 2017.
