CP1508: Updating standards in the CoPs and BSCP601
Formal title: Updating references to the British and International Standards within the relevant Code Subsidiary Documents.
The Codes of Practice (CoPs) and Balancing and Settlement Procedure (BSCP) 601 ‘Metering Protocol Approval and Compliance Testing’ reference standards, or sections of a standard, that Metering Equipment must conform to in order to comply with the relevant Code Subsidiary Document (CSD). These standards are the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and British Standards Institution (BSI) standards.
Many of the standards referenced in the CSDs are outdated, have been withdrawn or superseded. Whilst parties can install Metering Equipment tested and stamped to the latest standards that are not currently referenced in the CSDs, due to a generic Metering Dispensation (D/477), the CSDs should be updated to ensure alignment to current applicable standards.
CP1508 proposes to update all references to standards within the CSDs to their latest published equivalent.
CP1508 was approved by the ISG on 23 October 2018 and the SVG on 30 October 2018 for implementation on 27 June 2019.
CP1508 was issued for CP Consultation on 10 September 2018 with responses due by 5 October 2018.
CP1508 was presented for information to the ISG on 21 August 2018 and the SVG on 4 September 2018.
CP1508 was raised by ELEXON on 9 August 2018.
CP1508 will be implemented on 27 June 2019 as part of the June 2019 BSC Release.
