Elexon’s response to NGESO’s consultation on Digitalised Whole System Technical Code

Who will this impact?

In our response, we note that there is a need for code rationalisation, and that in our view, a single WSTC would address some of the issues associated with the present number of codes. We offered to share our learnings from the BSC digitalisation journey with the WSTC team and ESO to identify if any of the solutions we developed for the digital BSC could apply and deliver value to the WSTC project. As a member of the Plain English Campaign, we support the ambition to use plain English in any changes to the codes.  We note that there is significant Interaction between the Grid Code / Distribution Code and other codes such as the BSC, and so suggest that a representative of the other code bodies should be included in the Steering Group.
