Estimated implementation costs and timescales: locational transmission losses


On 7 July 2015, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) published its provisional findings and notice of possible remedies for the energy market investigation. The CMA held a round table session on 15 December 2015 to discuss the assessment of remedy 1, specifically a new cost-benefit analysis for the introduction of pricing for losses.

At this meeting, the CMA invited Elexon to provide insight into the cost and timescale implications of differing solutions based on previous BSC Modifications which have contemplated losses.
