Half Hourly Settlement design stakeholder event

Elexon is leading on the design of the Target Operating Model (TOM) to deliver market-wide Half Hourly Settlement. We are doing this is through the Design Working Group (DWG) made up of industry specialists with consumer representation, BEIS and Ofgem. This work forms a crucial element of Ofgem’s Significant Code Review (SCR) on Electricity Settlement Reform.

The DWG has now developed five draft Target Operating Models (TOMs) which describe options for the end-to-end Settlement process for Half Hourly Settlement.

The aim of the event is to inform a wider audience on the Settlement design work to date and the draft TOMs. Elexon will present the work of the DWG, its approach to the TOM development and initial conclusions.

In detail at the event, we will present the assumptions and methodology used by the DWG in development of the five draft TOMs. We will then walkthrough each TOM with DWG’s initial thinking on the advantages and disadvantages of each TOM. There will be an opportunity for questions and comments from the audience.

Ofgem will also provide an update on their policy work on access to data for Half Hourly Settlement.

It is anticipated that this event will be popular amongst industry and spaces are limited. Therefore, we request that interested parties only register one attendee per organisation.

For further details on the DWG’s work please visit the Design Working Group page of our website.
