IT notices: National Grid ESO outage impacting data sent to BMRS – 31 May 2020

National Grid ESO (NGESO) will be carrying out a planned IT maintenance between 02:10 to 03:10 (BST) on Sunday 31 May. The outage will impact data sent to BMRS.

How will I be impacted?

The outage will affect several NGESO systems which send data to the Balancing Mechanism Reporting Service (BMRS), including Demand Forecasts, non-BM STOR, Balancing Services Adjustment Data (BSAD) and European Transparency Regulation (ETR) data and REMIT.

TOGA and ASDP (PAS) users will not be able to access these systems during this maintenance window.

There will be no impact to Loss of Load Probability (LoLP) calculations during this time.

During the planned downtime, the BMRS will continue to publish the data as received and this outage will impact some data (e.g. BSAD) used for the calculation of indicative System Prices.

Therefore during the outage window, the indicative System Prices published on BMRS may not be accurate.

This activity will impact the ETR and REMIT data which NGESO sends to the BMRS.

All the impacted data will not be published on the BMRS website, APIs, Data Push Service and TIBCO. The ETR data will not be sent to ENTSO-e’s Transparency platform.

Market Participants who submits REMIT data via the Elexon Portal will not be affected by this activity.

Do I need to take any further action?

No.
