IT Notices: Planned National Grid ESO BSAD Outage
National Grid ESO (NGESO) has informed us that there will be a planned outage on their application which sends Balancing Services Adjustment Data (BSAD) to the Balancing Mechanism Reporting Service (BMRS) from Tuesday 31 January 2023 10:00 (GMT) to Wednesday 1 February 2023 01:00 (GMT).
How will I be impacted?
During the upgrade, the Ancillary Service Dispatch Platform (ASDP) application will be unavailable and there will be no inbound or outbound request flows to the ASDP system.
The transactions impacted are:
- All Dispatch & Cease from the ASDP System
- All ASDP Reporting Service
- ASDP Availability & Risk Trading Model (RTM) Services
- ASDP Data to BM System Operation Real-Time (SORT).
Non-BM Service information (in BSAD and BMRA files) to Elexon would be suspended.
Mitigation Plan during the Outage for Service Providers
The control room will perform manual instructions based on the energy needs. NGESO to Service Provider communication will be suspended during the outage period, which may result in a ‘500 error’.
The control room requests that you kindly stop submitting data and submit the failed transactions (if any) after the outage window.
Do I need to take any further action?
No, however any BSC Parties having questions for National Grid regarding this planned outage should phone 0800 917 7111 or 0800 085 4806. Overseas callers should use +44 800 917 7111 and quote “NETA EDT”.
