IT Notices: Planned National Grid ESO BSAD Outage

What is happening?

National Grid ESO (NGESO) have informed us that there will be a planned maintenance outage on their application which sends Balancing Services Adjustment Data (BSAD) to the Balancing Mechanism Reporting Service (BMRS) Wednesday 12 August 2020 between 20:30 and 23:00 (BST). The outage is required to move the whole Contigo system to a new platform.

The Entrader system is used between NGESO Traders and Trading Parties to make trades outside the Balancing Mechanism (BM) window which are then published on as part of the Balancing Services Adjustment Data (NETBSAD and DISBSAD) to the BMRS published at the end of each half hour.

How will I be impacted?

During this downtime, NETBSAD, DISBSAD and NETSO trades’ information will not be published on the BMRS website, APIs, Data Push Service and TIBCO. The indicative System Prices published on BMRS may not be accurate between these times. Once the outages are completed the files will be reprocessed.

Do I need to take any further action?

No, however any BSC Parties with questions for National Grid regarding this planned outage should phone 0800 917 7111 or 0800 085 4806. Overseas callers should use +44 870 521 6121 and quote “NETA EDT”.
