IT Notices: Planned National Grid ESO MODIS Outages

National Grid ESO have informed us that there will be a planned outage on the Market Operation Data Interface System (MODIS) between 13:25 and 18:10 (GMT) on Thursday 26 November 2020.  This is due to a planned switch back outage.

MODIS sends Loss of Load Probability (LoLP), De-rated Margin (DRM), REMIT and Transparency data from National Grid to the Balancing Mechanism Reporting Service (BMRS) and this will all be affected during this outage.

How will I be impacted?

Market Participants will be unable to submit European Transparency Regulation (ETR) and REMIT data to MODIS via FTP.

Furthermore, normal ETR and REMIT reports and DRM and LoLP will not be published on BMRS during this period of downtime. These files will be updated where applicable once the outage is completed.

Participants who submit REMIT data via the Elexon Portal will not be impacted and National Grid’s Balancing Mechanism (BM) systems will also be unaffected by this planned downtime

Do I need to take any further action?

No, however any BSC Parties having questions for National Grid regarding this planned outage should phone 0800 917 7111 or 0800 085 4806. Overseas callers should use +44 870 521 6121 and quote “NETA EDT”.
