IT notices: Planned outage for MODIS on 13 November 2018

National Grid has informed us that there may be a short period of downtime on Market Operation Data Interface System (MODIS) on Tuesday 13 November 2018 between 10:00 – 12:00 (GMT)

How will I be impacted?

Users will still be able to submit data via SFTP to MODIS during the downtime and this data will be processed normally during the outage. In addition, users will still be able to login normally via the web application. Normal REMIT and Transparency (ETR) data will be sent to BMRS during this outage. ACKs/NAKs will still be received.

The half hourly LoLP and DRM data publication will be affected for some or all of this outage period. We are hoping that the work will be completed in time for the normal publication of the midday LoLP run data.

Participants who submit REMIT data via the Elexon Portal will not be impacted and National Grid’s Balancing Mechanism (BM) systems will also be unaffected by this planned downtime.

Do I need to take any further action?

No.

Parties are not required to take any further action but note the potential impact of this planned downtime on LoLP and DRM data publication.

What is MODIS?

MODIS sends Loss of Load Probability (LoLP), De-rated Margin (DRM), REMIT and Transparency data from National Grid to the Balancing Mechanism Reporting Service (BMRS).
