IT Notices: Planned downtime required for the December 2020 Standalone BSC Release deployment

What is happening?

There will be a period of planned downtime on the Balancing Mechanism Reporting Service (BMRS) from 18:57 (GMT) to 22:15 (GMT) on Thursday 3 December 2020.

This period of planned downtime is required to implement the December Standalone 2020 BSC Release  The scope of the release is available on the Elexon website.

How will I be impacted?

During the period of planned downtime, the BMRS will not load or publish data via the website, APIs and Data Push Service. In addition, users of the TIBCO service will not receive any TIBCO messages via their High Grade Communications Lines and European Transparency Regulation (ETR) data will not be sent to ENTSO-E Transparency Platform during the outage.

Please note that you can continue to submit REMIT data via the Elexon Portal during this planned downtime, where the data will be accepted, queued and sent in sequence; however, these files will be delayed by this planned downtime.

Following this planned downtime, Elexon will carry out post deployment business process checks. The BMRS will start processing the backlog of data. We expect the BMRS website and APIs will be fully updated by approximately 23:20 (GMT) on 3 December 2020.

Do I need to take any further action?

Yes – The December 2020 Standalone release will amend BMRS to accommodate the reporting of new Interconnector flows for the North Sea Link (NSL) Interconnector when it is commissioned in 2021. Additionally, Market Participants will now have visibility of the disaggregated French Interconnector data through the BMRS website, APIs, Data Push and TIBCO services.
