IT Notices: Planned National Grid ESO EFS Outage

What is happening?

We have been notified by National Grid ESO (NGESO) that there will be an Energy Forecasting System (EFS) planned outage between 15:50 and 22:00 (GMT) on Thursday 17 June 2021.

How will I be affected?

During the outage, the EFS will be impacted. The EFS sends wind forecasts and European Transparency Regulation (ETR) reports from National Grid directly to the Balancing Mechanism Reporting Service (BMRS) and other information indirectly via the Balancing Mechanism (BM).

During this outage the following ETR reports will not be published:

Actual Aggregated Generation Per Type (B1620)

Actual or Estimated Wind and Solar Power Generation (B1630)

Generation Forecasts for Wind and Solar (B1440)

Actual Total Load Per Bidding Zone (B0610)

They will be processed after the outage is completed.

Latest day ahead and within day national demand and wind generation forecasts and daily actual temperature reports will also be affected. The latest updates to these will be published on BMRS after the outage is completed.

Do I need to take any further action?

You do not need to take any specific action but just note the impact of the outage.
