Acronym: MSID

A Metering System Identifier (MSID) is a unique number relating to a Metering Point and has specific criteria. A metering System Identifier (MSID) is the same as a SVA Metering System Number.

BSC defined definition

An MSID means a unique number relating to a Metering Point and which consists of the following:

  1. a 2 digit number determined by reference to the Licensed Distribution System Operator
  2. a 10 digit reference number provided by the relevant Licensed Distribution System Operator
  3. a 1 digit check number provided by the relevant Licensed Distribution System Operator
