The term that encompasses the three parts of the new arrangements. Forwards and Futures Markets, Balancing Mechanism, and Imbalance Settlement. Created by DTI and Ofgem from 1998 and introduced as the new arrangements in England and Wales on 27 March 2001 and extended to Scotland on 1 April 2005.
