We are looking for volunteers to join the Supplier Charges Review Workshop on January 28. The plan is to discuss whether the Supplier Charges technique needs to be amended. The workshop is part of Issue 69 ‘Performance Assurance Framework Review’.

What are Supplier Charges?

Supplier Charges are one of 16 current Performance Assurance Techniques. Suppliers pay these charges if they fail to meet certain performance levels in Settlement. The charges aim to compensate Parties disadvantaged by those that are not meeting defined Standards.

The workshop will debate whether to allow charges to be based on data other than PARMS Serials and whether there should be a new methodology for levying a new/amended charge.

This would include consideration of

  • if and when to introduce capping of charges
  • the level of charge
  • redistribution of charges
  • whether a charge should be incentive or remedial

PARMS stands for Performance Assurance Reporting and Monitoring System. PARMS data is provided in reports referred to as Serials. A Serial is a defined area for measuring a Supplier or Supplier Agents’ performance against key industry processes.

How to join the workshop

If you work for a Supplier, a BSC Trading Party that receives payments under Supplier Charges, or if you are involved in processing these charges, this workshop will be of interest to you. Also, if you have been involved in the previous Issue 69 workgroups, or have experience of financial compensation / incentive schemes and reporting mechanisms, your input would be valuable. You can participate either in person or via Skype.
