P292 seeks to enable the changes to Supplier and Non-Half Hourly Meter Operator Agent (NHHMOA) responsibilities for smart Meter Technical Details (MTD) proposed by the Department of Energy and Climate Change’s (DECC) Smart Metering Implementation Programme (SMIP).

P292 will enable the implementation of the detailed MTD requirements for smart Meters by providing the necessary ‘hook’ in the Code to enable the BSC and its Code Subsidiary Documents to align with DECC SMIP’s operating model.

E.ON raised P292 on 4 March 2013. The Panel considered Elexon’s Initial Written Assessment at its meeting on the 14 March and determined that P292 should be sent to report with a provisional recommendation that it should be approved with an implementation date of the 26 June 2014 as part of the June 2014 Release.

The Panel made its final recommendation that P292 should be approved at its meeting on 9 May 2013. Ofgem approved P292 on 19 June 2013.
