Help us improve coordination between code bodies
ELEXON is hosting a stakeholder event on the Code Administration Code of Practice (CACoP) on 16 July. This is an opportunity for customers of the code administrators to hear about what CACoP has delivered so far, and help to shape future work.
What is CACoP?
The CACoP was established in 2016 and sets out principles for administrators of the energy industry codes. The codes provide the commercial arrangements underpinning the energy system.
The requirements of the principles include administrators needing to take consistent approaches to the code rule change process. They must also ensure that the change process is clear and easily understood.
We will be explaining how code administrators monitor rule changes occurring across the industry, track progress and liaise to ensure consistency and uniformity.
We will discuss the ‘horizon scanning’ work CACoP does. This is important for ensuring that code administrators pro-actively plan to deal with emerging industry-wide developments. Horizon scanning also identifies future code rule changes that will be needed to support this.
We are looking for delegates to help shape the horizon scanning work, for example by putting forward issues which need to considered.
Code administrators you will hear from at the event
Speakers on the day will be from ELEXON, The Joint Office, Electralink, National Grid Electricity System Operator, the Energy Networks Association and Gemserv.
