Alan’s Career History
Alan is the National Performance Manager at Ringway Infrastructure Services (Including Ringway Jacobs), for street lighting and powered assets. The Ringway Group are the second largest street lighting contractor in the country, maintaining 700,000 highway electrical assets countrywide.
Alan leads on highway electrical innovation and investment business cases on all new technology roll outs, along with EV Charging. As part of his role, he has worked with test houses to independently test manufacturers’ equipment.
Alan has been a street lighting engineer for 21 years, with 12 years at Principal level within local authorities, responsible for Street Lighting, Traffic Signals, Variable Message Signs, Rising Bollards, Vehicle Actuated Signs, Traffic CCTV, Communication, and Traffic Counting equipment along with UTMC systems.
Alan is a Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET), Society of light and Lighting (MSLL) and the Highway Electrical Association (MHEA). He is also responsible for Ringways Independent Connection Provider registration (ICP) and sits on the HEA Unmetered Customer Connection Group.
