Alison is employed by RWE; a Germany-based energy company which is also one of the ‘Big Six’ in the UK energy market. This gives her insight into the issues which affect the larger end of ELEXON’s client base.
Currently she is a Project Director, reporting to the UK Board of RWE Generation, with specific responsibility for managing the consequences of the tragic accident at Didcot A in 2016. Her energy experience includes six years working on the supplier side with npower; two years as Diversity Officer for the RWE Group, reporting to the CEO; and four years leading RWE’s UK nuclear new build project in joint venture with E.On.
She also spent eight months working on secondment to Welsh Government helping them to understand the energy investment landscape. She is active in STEM initiatives.
Prior to entering the energy sector Alison’s career focused on marketing and management consultancy; working for Rowntree Mackintosh, Allied Domecq and Coopers and Lybrand amongst others. She holds a degree in Archaeology and Anthropology from Cambridge University and an MBA from Warwick.
