Nigel Perdue – Director of BSC Operations
Nigel Perdue was appointed to the role of Director of BSC Operations in December 2017.
Nigel has over 30 years’ industry experience with organisations including E.ON, IMServ, EDF Energy and National Grid.
He also has extensive senior operational and commercial experience managing third party agents and in Energy Retail Supplier activities and was a Performance Assurance Board member from 2010 to 2017.
Teams in the Operations Department
The Customer Operations team provides a dedicated operational interface into the customer and takes responsibility for regular, repeatable customer interfaces. Services include Market Entry, Qualification, Market Exit and our hugely popular Operational Support Manager service.
The key role of the team is progressing changes to the BSC arrangements in response to any concerns, problems or defects that Parties may identify in the current processes.
Metering, Disputes & Compliance
The team manages the BSC dispute processes and metering related activities including; testing, protocol approval, dispensation, aggregation rule and trading unit applications. The team is also responsible for managing the Performance Assurance Framework (PAF) on behalf of the Performance Assurance Board (PAB) and includes carrying out Technical Assurance checks on behalf of PAB.
Manages the operational relationships with BSC Agents and ensures that our service providers deliver these services against contractual requirements and continually improve their service. The team manages contracts with companies such as CGI and Cognizant.
Provides information, reporting and data management services to customers internally and externally. The team also operates a number of BSC processes including Registration, Market Domain Data Management (MDD), Supplier Charges and Unmetered Supplies (UMS) Charge Code/Switching Code applications.
