Peer Comparison as part of Performance Assurance

Glossary

Peer Comparison is designed to encourage performance improvement and compliance. Performance Assurance Reporting and Monitoring System (PARMS) Serial data is used to show comparative performance across Suppliers and Supplier Agent

What sort of Peer Comparison do we provide?

There are two types of Peer Comparison: Public Peer Comparison and Quarterly Peer Comparison. The Performance Assurance Board (PAB) approves both of these types and the PARMS Serials that are to be published.

Public Peer Comparison graphs show comparative performance either at a national or Grid Supply Point (GSP) Group level by Supplier ID, dependent upon whether the Serial is reported at GSP or nationally. Before they are published, the Public Peer Comparison data is circulated to all authorised Peer Comparison contacts for review and is published on this section.

Suppliers can challenge the data if there is a discrepancy with the data submitted into PARMS. If the PAB introduces or withdraws a Performance Measure from the Public Peer Comparison technique, we give Suppliers two months’ notice.

Quarterly Peer Comparison graphs show comparative performance of Suppliers and Supplier Agents either at a national or Grid Supply Point (GSP) Group level by Supplier and Supplier Agent ID, dependent upon whether the Serial and if it is reported at GSP or nationally. They are sent to authorised Peer Comparison contacts every three months. SP11 is not reported quarterly.

Publication of Peer Comparison data

Monthly Peer Comparison Graphs can be found within the Data zone on this website. The pages includes the Monthly Supplier Settlement Performance tables which have been published in line with P427.

The Performance Assurance Board (PAB) will provide a two month notification prior to the publication of any peer comparison data.

Current notifications are posted below:
