Confirmation of Code of Practice Compliance and Protocol Approval – CP1527

We implemented Change Proposal (CP) 1527 ‘Increase the minimum data storage capacity for Settlement Outstations and mandate specific selectable integration periods for Metering Codes of Practice’ on 30 June 2022, as part of the June 2022 BSC Release.

CP1527 incremented the Issue (and version) numbers of the below CoPs, by one.

What did CP1527 require?

CP1527 changed Metering Code of Practice (CoPs)1, 2, 3, 5 and 10 to require Outstations to store 90 days of Half Hourly data per Outstation channel. It also changed CoPs 3, 5 and 10 to require Outstations to have selectable integration periods of 30, 20, 15, 10 and 5 minutes duration.

Confirmations of compliance

EDMI Europe Ltd (EDMI), Landis+Gyr Ltd (L+G) and Em-Lite Limited (Em-Lite) have applied for compliance testing against the new Issues of the CoPs relevant to their integral Outstation Meter types.

EDMI confirmed that their integral Outstation Meter types (Mk7A/B/C, Mk10, and Mk10-1/2/3/4/A/D/E) already comply with the new Issues of the relevant CoPs. The protocol (communication language) for these Meter types has therefore not been impacted.

L+G also confirmed that their integral Outstation Meter types (Z*D and Z*Q) already comply with the new Issues of the relevant CoPs. The protocol (communication language) for these Meter types has therefore not been impacted.

Em-Lite has amended the firmware version for the EMA1 (integral Outstation) Meter type from v3.04-2 to v3.04-5 to comply with the new Issue of CoP10, Issue 3. Em-Lite Ltd has confirmed that the new version of firmware does not impact the approved protocol (communication language).
