Architecture Working Group (AWG)

The AWG is one of three industry working groups which Elexon is chairing and providing with technical leadership to support Ofgem’s Significant Code Review on Electricity Settlement Reform. The other two groups are: Design Working Group (DWG); and the Code Change and Development Group (CCDG).

Q & A webinar

On 12 May we hosted a webinar where we talked through the consultation and answered questions. You can watch the webinar below and view a copy of the slides presented.

AWG’s role, outputs and timetable

The AWG is building on the Target Operating Model (TOM) for Market-wide Half Hourly Settlement, as delivered by the Design Working Group in August 2019, by developing, consulting on and recommending reference architecture to enable the preferred TOM. This reference architecture will set the framework for suitable data integration that is appropriate to the new MHHS services.

The diagram below shows when the AWG plans to consult industry on its recommendations and when it intends to issue its final report to Ofgem. For each AWG meeting, we also produce a Headline Report summarising its discussions (see ‘Meetings’ below).  Since March 2020, all AWG meetings have been held remotely.

Milestones of project: Consultation on reference architecture (Q2 2021) - Final report to Ofgem for approval (Q2 2021)
