Architecture Working Group (AWG)
The AWG is one of three industry working groups which Elexon is chairing and providing with technical leadership to support Ofgem’s Significant Code Review on Electricity Settlement Reform.
AWG’s role, outputs and timetable
The AWG is building on the Target Operating Model (TOM) for Market-wide Half Hourly Settlement, as delivered by the Design Working Group in August 2019, by developing, consulting on and recommending reference architecture to enable the preferred TOM. This reference architecture will set the framework for subsequent IT system design.
The diagram below shows when the AWG plans to consult industry on its recommendations and when it intends to issue its final report to Ofgem. For each AWG meeting, we also produce a Headline Report summarising its discussions (see ‘Meetings’ below). Since March 2020, all AWG meetings have been held remotely.
What’s new?
On 18 November 2020, Ofgem wrote to Elexon asking it to carry out the planning of a post-AWG architectural design phase. You can find a copy of this letter under ‘Related content’.
