Acronym: ME

Metering equipment refers to devices and systems used to measure and record the consumption of utilities like electricity, gas, and water. Metering equipment measures the amount of electric energy consumed by a residence, business, or device.

A Metering System is made up of items of Metering Equipment; voltage transformers, current transformers, Meters and Outstations, the wires and connections between each item and connections required to transfer metered data to the outside world (e.g. modems and communication lines).

Means Meters, measurement transformers (voltage, current or combination units), metering protection equipment including alarms, circuitry, associated Communications Equipment and Outstations and wiring;
