Submission of Generation and Demand Capacity (GC/DC) for the Autumn 2023 BSC Season
The Autumn BSC Season begins on Friday 1 September 2023. The deadline for submitting your GC and DC values for the Summer BSC Season is Thursday 17 August 2023.
Even if the values are identical to the last BSC Season you need to submit values for the new Season.
Workgroup members wanted for Modification P459
We are looking for members to join the Modification P459 ‘Allowing different Supplier Agents to be appointed to Import and Export MSIDs’ Workgroup, which seeks to remove barriers in preventing the use of Export MSIDs for small-scale microgeneration.

Why are there file sequence numbers missing for my SAA-I014 reports?
The SAA-I014 files are released daily to customers and a sequence number is assigned to each file. Some customers have been in contact with us regarding missing file sequence numbers, since the go-live of the new Settlement Administration Agent (SAA) service on Elexon Kinnect, our cloud platform.

Our new Settlement Administration Agent (SAA) went live on our Kinnect Platform in June 2023. Since then, a small number of customers have asked why rounded numbers are used for trading charges invoiced by the Funds Administration Agent, (FAA) compared with figures that are reported by the SAA reports.

Modification P434 ‘Half Hourly Settlement for UMS Metering Systems’ was implemented on 14 December 2022 as a special BSC Release. This Modification will require a period of mandatory Change of Measurement Class for NHH UMS Metering Systems.

Approval of CP1574. CP1575 and CP1576 for implementation on 2 November 2023
On 6 June 2023 the Supplier Volume Allocation Group (SVG) approved CP1574 ‘Improving the use of the D0215 data flow in the relevant industry processes‘ and the Imbalance Settlement Group (ISG) approved CP1575 ‘Permitting the use of busbar voltage transformers within metering Codes of Practice 1 and 2’ for implementation on 2 November 2023 as part of the standard November 2023 BSC Release.
On 8 June 2023 the BSC Panel approved CP1576 ‘New Interconnector Fuel Type Category: Viking Link’ for implementation on 2 November 2023 as part of the standard November 2023 BSC Release.
The BSC has become gender neutral
We corrected 315 instances where masculine pronouns or terms are used, such as “Chairman”, “he”, “his” and “him” of the BSC and 198 cases of gendered pronouns across 39 Code Subsidiary Documents (CSDs).
